Luck Cycles
Major Luck (10-year cycles)
Major Luck divides life into 10-year phases. The direction (forward/backward) depends on gender and the year stem.
- For men born in yang years (Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, Ren): forward progression
- For men born in yin years (Yi, Ding, Ji, Xin, Gui): backward progression
- For women, the rules are reversed
Annual Luck
Annual Luck refers to the stem-branch of each year, which can significantly influence fortune in that year.
Example: 2024 is Jia-Chen year: Jia is the Heavenly Stem and Chen is the Earthly Branch. Everyone shares the same annual stem-branch, but the impact differs depending on their chart and major luck.
